In addition to carrots we also saved the tops to our beets that we picked and mary pureed them and made them into little beet cubes. Have not tried them yet with Grey...so we'll see.
We also picked all of our Kale, and mary did the same thing with those. Then last weekend we went to the farmer's market and asked one of the fruit stands if they had any peach seconds....unfortunately they had none, but they did end up having pears! We got about a 20lb. box of pears for only $10...sooooo awesome! They just ripened up this weekend and then mary went pear crazy. So far on Grey's menu is rice cereal, carrots, avocado (his favorite), bananas, and sweet potatoes. He will be starting the pears today! Below are pics of all of these food makings. Good job mama mary!

you need baby food packaging now!
Sounds like the start of a business....interested?
Wow good job making all that baby food! What are "seconds" at the farmers' market?
does he eat the pieces of pear whole? or did you puree those too?
ps please post a photo of Grey wearing the new hat I made him!!! I didn't get any good pics when I was there.
Thanks, Kelly! Seconds are the fruit they set aside that has something wrong with them - like peaches with bruises. These pears actually were perfect, they were just at the rich people's farmers market, and they had spots on them where they were growing against a branch. So they are perfect! But it is three weeks later and I still have pears coming out of my ears!!!!
