Mary and Grey are FAMOUS!

Mary and Grey took part in a Nurse-In at our local Target store. The first video is in all Spanish, but there are great shots of Grey and Mary being activists... haha. There is also a second video from our local news 9news. The video is pretty much the same thing... GO MARY, GO GREY!

Winter Break Part 2

Well, we have been enjoying or first week off, doing a whole lot of nothing! Grey has been slowly feeling better, but still a little off on his eating. We have to just wait until he is so hungry that he gives in and decides to eat (this goes for everything- solid food, bottles, and nursing). We have one stubborn boy on our hands! It was so funny, Justin told Greyson, through his crying and eating solid food, "you might be a stubborn boy, but you have even stubborn-er parents!" Haha!
Our favorite activities so far: reading to Grey, rocking Grey to sleep, and playing with Grey with his toys on the floor in the sun room. Most of these events have pictures below, so enjoy! Stop back soon - Grandma and Grandpa Christensen will be here in two short days!!

So t...

So very t...

GUESS WHAT HAPPENED YESTERDAY?!?!?!
This has happened only once before in my life, and it was a very momentous occasion. So, anyone who has made Rollo surprises knows that you have to first lay out pretzels, then top them with Rollos. Well, it is always a gamble to see if you laid out too many pretzels, or not enough. Well, for the second time in my many, many years of making this dessert, I put out EXACTLY the right amount of pretzels for the number of Rollos I had!!!!!! How crazy is it that this has now happened TWICE to me???? I was VERY excited about it, and I was yelling so loud that I don't think I was actually saying words in English, and all Justin said was, "... I will go get the camera..." Man, he knows me well :).

Winter Break part 1

We have had a restful Winter Break so far. We are super lucky to be home with baby Grey since he caught a nasty cold from Papa. He is stuffed up all the time, nose is running constantly, and he has thrown up a few times from the coughing spells :/. He has still been sleeping well, and actually taking formula from us (which he NEVER would do before) but has pretty much stopped eating all solid food for us. Hopefully he feels better soon! But at least we can be with him all day when he is not feeling well.
Anyways, here is a summary of our last few days...
Saturday morning we spent all morning wrapping and shipping our last presents to Michigan. We thought we would never finish! For lunch, we used up a Groupon that was expiring soon and went to a fancy Asian food place. It was good we went at lunch because the place was really nice, and here we come in with this snotty baby. So we took over a large booth, and baby was able to walk back and forth on the bench, eating brown rice and tofu from my plate. Saturday night, Grey went to bed early, so we watched Gnomeo and Juliet sans baby. It was so much fun! Sunday was church and groceries, then a pizza party at Aunt Jen's for the Bronco game. Monday we did pretty much nothing; we had lots of plans to go out, but Grey was just so cranky that we decided to stay closer to home during the day. Monday night, we had a "family dinner" with our work family, which consists of a bunch of mid-westerners who all moved out around the same time and started working at our school. We have been having family dinners for quite some time, but with the addition of more kids, it has been more and more difficult to get together. Well, we finally made it happen yesterday, and it was nice to let the kids play and hang out with the adults. Even though the weather was bad and we were missing a few people, it was still a great time.
Today, we got a little stir-crazy and decided to take Grey to paint a Christmas plate at a paint-your-own pottery studio. We want to make it an annual event, so we started this year and we loved it!
Later this week, we have a few fun Denver-y things, such as going to see Santa at the mall, visiting the big Cherry Creek toy store, and using more Groupons to travel to restaurants in Denver that we have never been to before.
Enjoy these pics!

Madeline (Raeana's sister) played the xylophone and both babies danced and danced... So cute!

Grey climbed stairs for the first time! (well, this was the first time he has been around stairs in like 2 months, so really not that impressive if you think about it)

Look at my beautiful artwork!

Good job Papa!

Thanksgiving/Christmas Tree

Thanksgiving this year was up in Conifer again! We had a great time as usual..eating lots of food, playing scrabble, and enjoying good company. It was also Grey's first Thanksgiving which I just know he will remember for the rest of his life...even though he slept through most of it. Mary made the yummy pies again, and Justin brought his appetite. In addition to Thanksgiving in Conifer on Thursday, we also went over to Erica and Carter's on Friday afternoon for another Thanksgiving with them! Mary and Erica made it a vegan Thanksgiving. Mary made roast beast and Erica also made a bunch of roasted veggies, and about 9 different potatoes (that's not an exaggeration)...it was a great meal, and Grey got a new hat out of the deal! On Saturday night we decided to buy our Christmas tree from the local floral shop. We paid a little extra but it's a really nice Colorado tree. They had a section of trees that were grown on a plantation, and they were perfect in shape, but they were shipped here from Iowa or something...so we wanted to support local, more natural looking trees. Mary made some really good snacks, along with the traditional orange juilius'. It was a great night decorating the tree for Grey's first Christmas! Enjoy the pics from all of our activities...

Picking out the tree! Bet you couldn't even find Mary due to the fact that she was wearing a camo sling....I had a hard time finding her to take the picture.

Bonus pic....while folding clothes today Grey kept wanting to unfold them all, so we put him in the hamper. He did not seem to mind...also he has started waving! It's pretty cool.

Halloween and Videos

Grey's 1st Halloween! We did end up walking around the neighborhood and sort of trick or treating. Our local coffee shop put on a costume parade around our park so we went and did that with Booty Grey in his puppy dog outfit, then we ended up walking around and seeing people's Halloween decorations and getting some candy (for Dad). He looked so cute in his little puppy outfit, although we're pretty sure he hates everything to do with it...haha. Below are also a few videos taken recently. Happy Halloween!

Snow and Cereal

We have been having a very relaxing fall break! We got our first snow on Wednesday, and Grey started eating his first whole cereal (cheerios). It took Grey a while to mush down the cereal enough to swallow it but now that he knowshow to do it, he LOVES it! He's getting very good and moving them from his hand to his mouth (even better since the video was taken), We also got a chance to get Grey out into the snow as well. Heseemed to enjoy it...for a small period of time. Enjoy the pics and video...

Evenings with Grey

Lately, Grey is not happy in the evening unless he is moving or climbing. Usually, he likes to crawl to us and climb on our laps when we are on the ground. However, yesterday, he decided to climb on the toy basket. To fully enjoy these pictures, scroll slowly :).

Greyson is crawling....forward! It's really an army crawl, but he's moving! His new favorite place is to crawl under the coffee table with the dogs, and play under there...hehehe! Good job baby Grey!

Fresh off the Vine

Today Grey got to experience his first pumpkin patch, and I know he will remember it for the rest of his life! We got together with Erica, Carter, Timmy, Krista and her sister and boyfriend up at Rock Creek Farms in Broomfield. It is a U-pick patch, so we got to drive back into the farm and cut our own pumpkins which gave us lots of opportunities for picture taking with Grey. It was so much fun! Greyson seemed to enjoy it, but I think he either A. Wanted to eat the pumpkin or B. Sleep in the car. He wasn't overly smiling like he usually is, but he sure did like grabbing all the vines and leaves and try to put them all in his mouth.

Fam in the patch

Grey loves mama so much!
