Easter 2012

We had a wonderfully relaxing Easter weekend this year. We spent Saturday morning at our neighborhood Mayfair Park at an Easter Egg Hunt. We walked with Grey in the wagon down the park, and got there just in time; all the older kids were going CRAZY picking up the eggs! We found a little corner of the park and Grey found two eggs, one for each hand, and he was happy as a clam. He then spent the next 15 minutes walking around with the two eggs, watching all the other kids. He loved holding on to those two eggs, and even refused to put them in the Easter basket! We got some really great pics, shown below.

On Easter Sunday, we headed up to Boulder for a nice Easter brunch at Stephanie's house. I made an asparagus, mushroom, onion and goat cheese quiche, and Stephanie made this AMAZING french toast casserole with strawberry topping. Joe made bacon for the bacon lovers and crescent rolls. We even had mimosas with freshly squeezed orange juice! We ate like kings, for sure. Thanks for hosting a great Easter brunch, Stephanie!

Hope you enjoy these pics - more coming soon!

My quiche - yummmm

Stephanie hid Easter eggs all over her yard, and Grey LOVED finding them! He then played catch with the eggs with Uncle Joe.

He kept going back to this one.

After brunch, we dyed eggs! Grey's first time (why didn't we do it last year??)

All the colors.

Grey is really into climbing now, and Uncle Joe was happy to help. Be careful!

Look what else was hiding! Justin liked finding these.

All done! Happy Easter!

Grandmas Visit!

The week after Grey's baptism the Grandmas stayed for another week for their annual "Grandmas Visit Denver Extravaganza," a.k.a. "Grandmas Spoil Greyson Time!" They stayed home all day with Grey while we were at work, and enjoyed a lot of play time and snuggle time. Mom Christensen even introduced Mom Cooper to marketing with Grey, and they went several times down to the grocery stores to pick up little things for us. They even surprised us with dinner one night, ready and waiting when we got home! It was such a nice, relaxing visit, and we were so happy that Grey got some quality time with his grandmas. Grey says he can't wait until next year's spring break!

One of the frequent marketing events - the liquor store! They at least waiting for us to go to this marketing location.

We took Thursday and Friday off to hang out with the moms. Thursday morning we went to Snooze!

Mom carried Grey in a sling for the first time! We think it was the first time she ever carried a grandbaby in a sling!

On Thursday and Friday, the moms helped watch Grey so we could get some yard work done. Here is Grey enjoying the sandbox Justin set up for him.

Most of the sand stayed in the sandbox.

The moms loved taking Grey around the block to show him all the flowers and blooming trees.

Wagon fun (thanks Kennedys for the wagon!!)

Since Joe had to still work, we decided to meet him halfway between Denver and Boulder to hang out one night. Joe got to pick the location, so, of course, we met at a brewery!

Grey's first zoo visit! Do you like the penguins, Grey?

How tall are you?

Grey REALLY liked the bears. We were very close, and he kept pointing to them and laughing when they would scratch their backs on the rocks. (see videos below).

More bears.

After a few hours, we tired him right out.
Thanks mom Christensen for getting us a year-long zoo pass!!! Now we can go whenever we want!
(We live about 2 miles from the zoo).

Grey's one year pictures

We finally got Grey's one year pictures taken! Instead of 12 months, Grey was more like 13 or 14 months... oops. We printed some out for the Baptism thank-yous, but if you want more, or other sizes, just let us know. (PS - Mom Christensen we know you want a 5x7 of the last one!)

Happy man.

Mustang man (for grandpa Christensen).

Yes! I am one year old!

Grey's Baptism

Last Sunday we celebrated Greyson's Baptism at Christ the King church! We were so happy to have family fly in for this special event. Mom and Dad Christensen, Mom Cooper, and Becky all flew in. We decided to make Erica and Joe Grey's godparents! It was a great Sunday, we had Mom's 5 mile race up in Boulder in the morning, then we all got ready for his baptism at 4pm. There were around 17 of us total at the ceremony that was just for Grey. The church told us they don't usually perform baptisms during lent, but Mary being Mary negotiated to have them still do it, on a Palm Sunday nonetheless. Father Daniel wasn't available, but Deacon Brian was. You could tell he hadn't performed very many Baptisms, but he did a great job. The church was beautiful and light was coming in from all of the stained glass. We are very lucky to have such wonderful family and friends surround us on such a special day for our son. To those who couldn't make it, you were missed and we still thought of you! Here are some pics and vids of the day!

Grey looked like the biggest baby ever to be baptized...oops

He did a great job!

Dad/Grandpa Christensen Visits!

1 Day after Maria and Jerry left, Dad Christensen flew into Denver! He came early for the Baptism, and we were able to put him to work on the house! Main projects were gardening, creating an Apocalypse Bucket, and building a Lean-to on the side of the garage with Justin...and of course bonding with Grey! Grey fell in love with Grandpa on this visit! We can't thank him enough for all of his help!

Mom Christensen's 5 Mile Race!

On Saturday the Grandma's flew in to stay for a week! Mom Christensen flew out here for Grey's Baptism, but also signed up for her first race since losing weight! She had been training for quite some time, and was now ready for race day...5 miles! Erica, Carter, Joe, Mary and I decided to walk with her and support her. Jerry and Becky were also here, and met us all at the finish line! We woke up early and headed to Boulder, and had a great walk with Mom. She finished with no problems at all...even though she didn't like the hills. She kept saying Graytown doesn't have hills...haha...she did great though...CONGRATS Mom!
