We put an offer on a house!

We put an offer on a house!! Woohoo! We weren't planning on things happening so quickly, but this foreclosure came on the market and we had to act quickly to get it. We are very excited!

Details:
4 beds, 2 baths, 2000 sq ft. Two blocks away from Denise's on Liberty street. Six-seven blocks from the lake and a public beach. We got it for $100,000 less than it was for sale five years ago! Crazy! We are very excited and can't wait for work to begin on the house. As you will see in the pics, it needs a lot of cosmetic updates. The only major thing wrong was that the water heater needs to be replaced, besides that, everything is pretty much ready to go! We went this weekend to pick out our new kitchen... so exciting! We will keep you updated on next steps.

Master bedroom

Master bedroom view #2 (one of two walk-in closets)

Upstairs hallway

Second bedroom upstairs (with walk-in closet)

Third bedroom upstairs looking into the upstairs bathroom. Weird that the bathroom is off a bedroom that is not the master... we will need to fix that in time. For now, it is fine.

View from one corner of the living room, looking towards the left. Nice green carpet and textured yellow wallpaper.

View from the same corner, looking towards the right. This looks into the dining room and the kitchen is behind that striped wall (we are tearing down that wall and making a breakfast bar)

Bay window (where all the light is coming from in the dining room pic above)

Fourth bedroom which is really more of an office since the patio slider doors are off of this room. The second bathroom and second set of stairs is just to the right of the slider.

Nice kitchen with view of carpeted bathroom #2 (sarcasm). This is where most of our money is going. We will be gutting the kitchen, closing off this entrance to the bathroom since there is another entrance from bedroom #4. We are planning on putting the stove where that opening is right now. As I said before, directly behind the person taking this picture is a wall that we are knocking down and putting a breakfast bar/peninsula in it's place. Hopefully that will open up this dark room!
We are also redoing bathroom #2 with new tile, paint, toilet and vanity (the tub is actually in decent shape).

Great job! It must have been meant to be. Can Justin walk to work?
