Summer in Alpena part 2: Kennedys!!!

Amy, Katie, Megan and Jessica came all the way to Alpena to meet baby Grey! They made the trip Thursday morning, and arrived ready to play. We waited for them on the front lawn, and the kids and Auntie Amy immediately fell in love with Grey. The first thing we did was let every Kennedy hold Grey.

Meeting Grey for the first time. Auntie Mary is telling a very interesting story.

Then, we visited the National Marine Sanctuary Museum. The kids loved pretending they were diving underwater!

Here they are by the new glass bottom boat. They just started tours this month, where you can go out and see the shipwrecks in Thunder Bay.

Then, we spent some time down by the lake. This picture was about 30 seconds before Megan slipped and fell into the water!

A favorite activity of the Kennedy girls: looking for "treasures" on the beach.

Walking the break wall. We saw SO many big fish! All the girls wanted to take turns pushing baby Grey. See the nice stroller system we are borrowing? Thanks Aaron and Annie for finding it for us!

Next, we spent tons of time hanging with baby Grey! Katie took to him right away, spending long periods of time playing with him, dressing him, and reading to him. She even let him play with her hair (aka pull her hair and swing his arms frantically).

Lazy Friday morning playing with Grey. He loved Megan's p.j.s, and he tried to eat the pandas.

All the girls loved playing with baby Grey.

Wait, this is a little out of order! Justin will be mad at me. Oh, well. On Thursday after the museum, we headed to the local beach. The girls couldn't wait to go swimming!

The sun wasn't out the whole time, but they didn't care!

Jessica liked to make sand castles more than swimming.

Thursday night, we took the kids putt-putting for the first time! Here, Makenna is helping Jessica putt.

Get it, Katie!

Friday was spent with the Kraffts on Long Lake! Grey loves his life vest.

Mr. Krafft took us to the south side of the lake where it is nice and sandy. We spent quite some time swimming and floating. Of course, Katie and Megan spent a lot of time looking for "treasures," which were, in this case, zebra mussels. Mr. Krafft liked that they did that, and he had them throw them back in the middle of the lake where they can't cut anyone's feet :).

Fun times swimming. Here, Katie is pulling an Auntie Mary wheelbarrow, hauling a Jessica load.

We returned to the Kraffts to eat s great, healthy dinner and a bonfire. See our old house?

Tough life on the lake.

The kids never stopped finding treasures.

Oh, except for s'mores!

What a perfect day on the lake! Thanks, Mr. and Mrs. Krafft!!! And, thanks for coming to Alpena, Kennedys!!
