Summer in Alpena

We have been enjoying our time back in Alpena, and being back near water! The flight to Alpena was interesting, including a blow-out diaper on Mary's lap and sprinting through the Detroit airport to make our connecting flight. But, we made it safe and sound, and we have been having a great time since we arrived. Enjoy these pics!

Our first night, mom and dad Christensen came with all the Coopers to get ice cream at the new shop downtown, and then they headed to a bonfire at the Krafft's while the Coopers finished the evening with a walk. We walked down the river to the beach, and on the way we saw this boat with all these people dressed in scuba gear! They were actually just coming back from being on the lake.

On the evening walk, both Cooper boys felt the need to jump to the farthest rock they could get to, then do the hands-on-hips pose. Who knows what goes through their heads sometimes!

The next day, on the fourth of July, we spent the morning at the parade downtown. We met up with the Kraffts and Hank. Such a fun time!

Cousins all dolled up for the parade.

Then, we spent the afternoon on Justin's godparent's house on Lake Huron. Grey swam in his first Great Lake!

We organized a Sixty Seconds to Success game for the fourth of July gathering. We played ten mini-games, and it was a big hit! In this game, you have to hit the orange into the goal using the banana that is tied around your waist. As you can imagine, it got out of control pretty quickly!

Recognize any of these faces? We met up with old friends after the fireworks. Took us both back to high school days.

Thanks for coming all the way to Alpena for a great visit, mom and dad!

I know the real reason why they drove so far...

Keep checking back for more posts of our Michigan adventures! The Kennedys arrive in less than an hour, so more craziness will follow!
