Kitchen and bathroom remodel 1

I know you have all been waiting on a house update... So here are some pics to show the progression of the big project of the house: the kitchen gutting and the bathroom upgrade.

Before: standing in the dining room, looking into the kitchen.

During: wall is partly down...

Now: bye bye wall! Actually, this is all painted now (which is another story...) but you get the idea
Here's more pics of the steps along the way

Kitchen before. The open door is a second door to the bathroom we are remodeling

Kitchen before

We had to take the ceiling the ceiling down, too. Lots of work. Well, for the crew we hired :)

Another look at the doorway to the bathroom

Demo halfway done

Old lathe board. Very messy!

Multiple layers of wallpaper and wallboard under the wood paneling. We saved some to frame later

Linoleum tile on the wall in a kitchen? Why not!
Also, that white pipe was just hanging out in the corner of the kitchen, so we had them build a fir wall (?) to hide it since it couldn't be moved.

Fir wall framed in and insulated

Drywall!

More drywall. See anything missing? The bathroom door is gone! The stove is going to go there.

Look at all that nice drywall!

New ceiling with canned lighting.

Painted!
Next steps:
Floors go in starting tomorrow, then cabinets come next Thursday. After that, it's a three week waiting game while we wait for the quartz countertop to come in.

wow, so much has been done! I still don't quite get the flow of everything, but I bet it feels good to see the progress. The floors and cabinets will make a big difference!
